Pastor Doug’s Report 2011-2012

This is my 12th report to you as Pastor of Cedarville Church of the Nazarene.  This past year we had wonderful worship services with the help of our awesome worship team, and we had exciting activities and ministries with the help of our SS superintendent, Ladies director, children workers, parents and grandparents, SS Board and Church Board who made it all possible.

Some of the highlights last year was VBS, our Faith Promise convention which helps us each year to pay our District budgets and World Evangelism.  I’d like to thank our church Treasurer and NMI President Tina Morris for doing such a great job last year!

Other highlights include: our Christmas program and Easter program, the CedarFest parade, all of our church dinners, the community worship services, and the Fall Harvest party at the Hartman’s farm.

Our Wednesday night services were a blessing to all ages!  The Men’s group studied the Book of Proverbs, we also studied the message of the Gospel, and  we are now studying the book, the Resolution for Men.  The Men’s group also went bowling.

We also had several people from our church go to Target Dayton and minister to the homeless people.

We received Communion every quarter.  I baptized 7 people.  I brought in 2 new church members.  I conducted 3 funerals.  I performed 1 wedding last June, and I dedicated 1 baby to the Lord.

I spent time praying for our church, visiting hospitals, nursing homes, and the sick.  I spent time counseling individuals and couples.  I also shared my faith and passed out Gospel tracts to many people!

The ministries and witness of our church also used media as another way to reach people for Christ with the use of Facebook, blogs, e-mails, YouTube videos, our church website, and a sermon podcast.

We also have a monthly church newsletter which Tina Wagner publishes.  All of these ministries serve the purpose of spreading the gospel and making disciples of Christ.

All of last year I preached through the first 6 chapters of Matthew with other special messages from time to time.  At the beginning of the year I challenged you to read your Bible every day!  I hope you’re doing that.

Shortly after that my family received the wonderful news that a baby boy was born at University hospital in Cincinnati and since then I haven’t slept a wink, but Caden Douglas Graham is now 4 months old and doing well for which we are so happy and we want to give God all the praise!

I want to give a special thanks to our SS teachers, you all do a great job and we appreciate it!

I am very grateful to serve such a wonderful Church Board.  Last year they blessed me and my family with a 6 week Sabbatical for which I’m grateful for having that opportunity to focus on the spiritual direction and renewal that the Lord blessed me with.

I also want to thank you for giving to the Lord.  Your tithes and offerings helps in more ways than you’ll ever know!  It’s a joy to serve as your pastor!  I mean that so much let me say that again.  It’s a joy to serve as your pastor!

My prayer for us this coming year is to grow in holiness, to grow in love with God’s Word, to share the gospel with the lost, and to grow in relationships with each other even through conflict as we worship the Lord together.

Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.  But my biggest thanks goes to my family, my wife, my daughter, and now I get to say my son, I love you very much.  I cannot thank you enough!  I couldn’t do it without you.

And when you see Bob and Rhea Myers, please be sure to thank them because they help me out a lot.  I appreciate them as well.

As a church family, I love you as well.  I pray for you and may we always keep our eyes on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, because it’s all for His glory!

Respectfully submitted,

Pastor Douglas Graham
