2 Cor. 5:21 says, “For our sake he made him to be sin, who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
This is amazing, that God would actually put our sins on His Son, and God would treat His Son as if He lived our sinful lives, (although He was sinless), so that He could treat us as if we lived Jesus’ life because of His mercy and grace, mercy being forgiveness because God took away what I deserved.
I deserved death, instead He took my punishment. And grace being life because God gave me righteousness which is a gift.
It’s the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus that makes this all possible! This is the beauty of the Gospel!
And it’s ours, by faith, and because His perfect love has cast out fear, fear of death, fear of judgment, fear of man, fear of the unknown, we can now stand before the God of this universe and hear Him declare, “You are my child! I adopt you!”
That’s why Jesus is so amazing, that’s why He alone is worthy! And that’s why Good Friday is so good!
