How Can We Know the Bible is True?

Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”  Something that is absolutely true can use itself as proof.   The Bible does that.  The Bible is self-evident.  We can either take God at His Word, or reject it and be reduced to a fool.

It’s not circular reasoning to say the Bible is true because it declares to be the truth.  My proof for this is a soldier can stand on ground while defending that ground.  You can fix your eye contact while using your eye to do it.  God’s Word is true because God is true; therefore, He created in 6 literal 24 hour days, just like He said.

We can stand on the authority of God’s Word while at the same time say it’s true.  That is not an endless circle.  In other words, we know the Bible is true not only because it says it is, but also because if one rejects this claim they are reduced to a fool.

How can I say that?  It’s because without the Bible no one can prove anything.  If the Bible were not true, we couldn’t prove a thing.  Wisdom, logic, and truth only come from God.  It doesn’t come from the worldview that doesn’t believe the Bible to be true.  The Bible comes from God.

To try to prove the Bible false one would have to use a Biblical worldview to try to refute it.  Everything came from God, including air, reasoning, your brain, logic, morality, everything.  These things only exist because the Bible is true.  If the Bible wasn’t true nothing would exist.  And the Bible is true whether someone believes it or not.  God is eternal.  His Word is eternal.  Man lies, but God cannot lie.

A world made by random natural processes makes everything relative.  It makes everything arbitrary.  If everything is relative and arbitrary there is no truth and there is no ability to account for things like the laws of logic, morality, and the uniformity of nature.  None of those things make sense in an evolutionary worldview.

The Bible is the primary standard.  Science is not above Scripture.  Science confirms Scripture to be true.  Without the Bible you couldn’t do science.   Science is only possible because Biblical creation is true.  Who made science?  God.

Science requires the uniformity of nature, which only makes sense if Biblical creation is true.  Science can’t make itself.  Nothing can make itself, yet many atheists claim nothing made everything (and I can back that up with many direct quotes).  Atheists and evolutionists have to borrow from the Biblical worldview to try to refute it.

If you try to disprove God without using any principle from the Biblical worldview, you’re reduced to a fool because you have nothing to use.  You have no argument if the Bible isn’t true.  Try it.  Try to disprove God and His Word, but you’re not allowed to use the air He made.  You’re not allowed to use words or language.  You can’t use your brain either because God made that too.

You can’t use laws of logic.  And you can’t use absolute terms like, “you’re right, or you’re wrong, or you’re judging, or always, or we know, or we have proof, or black and white.”

You can’t use science because God made that as well.  You can’t use billions of years because God made time, and Genesis gives us God’s time table.  And you can’t use personal preference because without God there wouldn’t be a person and you would have no preference.  An anti-Biblical worldview has NO foundation except the Biblical worldview they borrow from.

So stop standing on my worldview to try to refute it.  Use your own worldview to prove the Bible to be false, but that will be impossible to do because God made everything.

If all we are is re-arranged pond scum, then someone can’t use any principle in my worldview to try to refute it.  To be honest and consistent an atheist would have to say, “I believe, or I think everything is arbitrary,” but again, being honest and being consistent, believing and thinking come from my worldview.

Dr. Jason Lisle from Answers in Genesis said, “The ultimate proof of Biblical creation is that without it we could not know anything.”  The Bible is true and one would have to suppress the truth in unrighteousness in order to try to refute it.  Someone once said, “The problem isn’t the lack of evidence, it’s the suppression of it.”

One who rejects the Bible to be true would have to admit that their worldview which is arbitrary, inconsistent, and denies preconditions like the laws of logic, the uniformity of nature, and absolute morality, is all false and relative before they try to argue that their position is true and the Bible is wrong.

Proverbs 14:1 says, “The fool has said in his heart there is no God.”  The Bible is true.  Don’t be a fool.  Repent from your unbelief.  Use your God-given brain, trust the Bible, and do what it says.  Then you’ll know God, you’ll know true salvation, and you’ll know the Bible is true.  I beg of you, turn to God and live before it’s too late!

One Response to How Can We Know the Bible is True?

  1. Please note: No comments that use the Biblical worldview to try to refute it will be approved because they are invalid and inconsistent. Only comments that affirm the Biblical worldview will be approved as well as any comments that are arbitrary will also be approved because that is valid and consistent.

It’s inconsistent to use principles from the Biblical worldview to try to refute it. Truth and knowledge come from one source – the Biblical worldview. Any other worldview has NO foundation and is completely arbitrary. So make sure your comments are consistent and valid.
